38. Sheet Metal Works, 2717 Rockefeller Ave

Everett Sheet Metal Works, 2717 Rockefeller Ave (1915) This two-story brick commercial building has a storefront with recessed entry at the southern portion of the west facade. The building is finished with brick laid in Flemish bond. Four paired windows are on the second story. Everett Sheet Metal works occupied the building from at least 1932 to 1959, with the owner living above. Note the YMCA at 2721 Rockefeller Avenue built in 1921 adjoining the historic district. First of Everett’s 1920s boom buildings, the original (designed by A.F. Heide) burned the previous spring. Additions were built in 1960 and 1981. Note destinctive chimneys and dormers on the Georgian style facility. It once had a flashing neon sign from 1956.
